10% growth of the Hungarian non-residential construction in 2013

In 2013, some 30,000 m² of office space was completed on the Hungarian market, a growth of 30% compared to 2012 when only 23,000 m² of modern office space was completed, which was itself a 74% fall compared to the previous year and the lowest ever in the history of the Budapest office market. On the technological side, each of the developments already launched or planned focuses on sustainability. BREEAM ratings of “very good” or “excellent” and LEED ratings of “gold” are addressed by the developers, as most of the tenants require them. Only one major completion took place on the Hungarian office market in 2013, namely the Vaci Greens complex in Budapest, an Atenor development. The complex has a leasable area of some 15,000 m². The other 15,000 m² of completed space was in much smaller developments.
