The company Swedwood Poland from the IKEA group has announced plans to build a sawmill in Stalowa Wola in the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone, according to Puls Biznesu.
The investor estimates that the undertaking will cost in the region of PLN 33m (€8m), and it will create 40 new jobs. The company is currently applying for the permits and licences it needs to carry out the project and the construction work may get under way in 2013.
The undertaking is the latest investment that Swedwood has launched in Poland. The company operates a plant in Wielbark near Szczytno, where it employs more than 1,000 people. This project required capital expenditure in the region of PLN 400m (€97.4m).
