Ceramic tile sales to reach 1.4 m² per capita in Russia in 2014

Russia's ceramic tile industry has been experiencing something of a boom recently. Steady growth has occurred in the residential and non-residential construction sectors. According to Rosstat, the number of new homes activated in 2013 rose by 10.9% year on year to 929,400, the most substantial increase in the past two decades.
The total floor space of residences put into use in 2013 increased by 7.2% to 70.5 million m², again the highest figure since 1990. It is worth noting that the highest yearly housing completion figure ever recorded in Russia was that observed in 1987 (72.8 million m²).
