8% growth in the industrial construction sector in Slovenia in 2013
Industrial construction output in the last decade depended mostly on power plant construction. This trend has been reinforced over the last five years as investment in power stations increased from €21m in 2006 to €83m in 2012. Its portion of total industrial output shot up from 50% to 87% in 2011 while in 2012 it dropped to 76%. A significant gain in power plant investment was noticed in 2010 when the domestic electric power company HSE and its daughter companies invested in two hydro-power plants: Bostanj and Blanca on the Sava river, which were built between 2009 and 2012. In H1 2014 the hydro-power plant Krsko will be completed and tenders will open for the hydro-power plant in Brezice. Moreover, later on in 2014 tenders for the hydro-power plant in Mokrice will also be announced.
