The company Wikana Bioenergia intends to build a dozen or so bio-gas units in Lubelskie voivodship and neighbouring regions by 2015, according to PAP.
A total of 10-15 such units will be constructed during the 2011-2015 time-frame, each of which will have an output capacity of between 890 kW and 1 MW. To produce energy the units will be fuelled with maize, rye, grass, liquid manure and whey. According to the timetable announced by the company, the first two units will be ready to operate as early as 2011. In turn, in 2012-2014 four units will be built each year, although the tempo at which they will be completed will depend on when and whether Wikana obtains subsidies for this purpose.
The company is currently assembling a biogas unit in Piaski municipality. A raw material storage site and vehicle manoeuvre areas are currently under construction. By the end of the year Wikana also hopes to have completed the construction of underground and fermentation tanks as well as buildings housing a machine room and a control room. The biogas plant will be ready for service by the end of May or the beginning of June 2011.
