Toshiba ready to begin construction of solar energy park near Yambol

Toshiba is planning to invest JPY4bn (€37.1m) in a photovoltaic plant near the Bulgarian town of Yambol, according to Pari.bg. The generating capacity of the park will be 10 MW, enough to supply 2,000 households with electricity. The park will be built on an area of 300 ha, with work expected to begin in 2011. This will be the first of eight large solar parks which Toshiba intends to build across Europe by 2015.
