The city-owned company
Wroclawskie Inwestycje is planning to build a new artery called Stablowicka Avenue in Wroclaw, which will link the city's stadium with its airport,
Gazeta Wyborcza reported.
In September this year a tender will be held to choose a contractor to design and build the road, which is to be ready for motorists before the beginning of the Euro 2012 football tournament. The project is set to cost an estimated PLN 300m (€75.4m). Stablowicka Avenue will be more than 3 km in length and will simultaneously function as the first section of the Lesnica bypass. The launch date for the construction work has been set for the spring of 2011.
