Trimp Holding's underwater luxury hotel will not be built in Kiskunhalas

2010-09-02

Trimp Holding has announced that its planned underwater luxury hotel will be built in a new location – in the town of Bonyhad, on a 7.9 acre property in the Alsoszeplak area, adjacent to the town’s brand new spa, and not in Kiskunhalas, as Central Europe Construction Review reported in July 2010.
Details of the announcement were confirmed by Arpad Janos Potapi, the mayor of Bonyhad.
Trimp Holding has begun negotiations with the town council of Bonyhad pertaining to the purchase of the property, and a decision is expected by October 2010. The company changed the location of its proposed luxury hotel because the council in Kiskunhalas could not offer a property large enough for the project, according to Bela Kokeny, the CEO of Trimp Holding.
The proposed project, which will cost HUF 10.5bn (€37.1m), has already obtained funding from ten private investors. The 28,000 m² hotel will be a four-storey complex, and three of the storeys will be underwater. Incorso will be its developer, and Tropicarium-Oceanarium will be responsible for the design of the structure of the underwater section, the surroundings of which will evoke the sea. The project is due to be completed by the end of Q3 2013.
