2010-09-02
The paint and lacquer manufacturer
Akzo Nobel, which entered the
Romanian market in 2007 when it set up the company
Akzo Nobel Coatings Romania, observed a slight reduction, of 400,000 litres, in sales volume in H1 2010. The manufacturer, however, expects its sales revenues to increase by 5% this year in comparison with last year. Akzo Nobel Romania earned sales revenues of RON 15m (€3.5m) in 2009, an increase of 10% in comparison with RON 13.7m (€3.7m) during the previous year.
The company expects the value of the premium paints market in Romania to reach approximately €15-20m in 2010, which would represent 10-15% of the overall decorative paints market. About 50% of the manufacturer’s sales come from paints, and the other half from lacquers. Akzo Nobel Romania imports products from the UK, Poland and Hungary.
The most prominent players in terms of sales revenues on the Romanian paint market are
Policolor,
Fabryo Corporation,
Deutek,
Kober,
Atlas Corporation and
Sarcom.
