Quarter of Slovaks plan to renovate their flats this year

Some 23% of Slovaks are planning to rebuild or renovate their flats, according to a recent survey from GfK Slovakia. They plan to fund these works through a combination of their own resources and bank loans. In 2009, 21.4% of households modernised their flats.
While in 2009 and in the first half of 2010 Slovaks have renovated their flats mainly through their own sources, by the end of 2010 and in 2011, they plan to fund these works chiefly through bank loans, according to the same survey, which canvassed a total of 550 respondents.
Approximately half of those who plan to renovate their flats stated that they would spend between €3,000 and €10,000 on this purpose.
