Construction of gas ring-propelled power block approved

The project of the construction of a gas ring in the refinery Slovnaft got the green light from the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Regional Development in Slovakia, according to SITA. The gas ring would serve a power block with a production capacity of 880 MW. The investor in this project is the company CM European Power International, a joint venture of the Czech energy company CEZ and the Hungarian oil distributor MOL. The cost of the construction works are estimated at €705-720m. The construction of the gas ring is expected to be finalised by the end of 2012.
