Nineteen railway constructions postponed
2010-08-31
The construction of a total of 19 railway infrastructure projects with a combined value of CZK 47bn (€1.9bn) will not be started this year as originally planned, according to information from the Administration of the Railway Transports (SZDC) in the Czech Republic.
The move followed a bigger order of the minister of transports Vit Barta who decided to halt a total of 31 construction projects in the railway segment because of the shortage of funding,
Hospodarske Noviny reported. A total of 12 of these undertakings are ongoing. The construction works on them are expected to be halted in such a way as not to endanger the safety of the railway transports. The SZDC stated that they have not calculated the costs incurred from the conservation of the started projects.
