Business-consumer confidence improves in February

The GKI’s combined consumer and business confidence index has started to rise again, from -23.3 points in January to -22.4 in February. The business confidence index rose to -13.6 points in February from -14.2 in January.
The construction industry confidence index continued to rise. The assessment of production and stock of orders pertaining to the past three months improved slightly.
The trade confidence index fluctuated significantly in 2009, but the trend throughout the year was one of growth, and this continued in the first two months of 2010: after a fall in January the index rose again in February.
After the fall in the last two months of 2009 and the stagnation in January, the confidence index of services increased again month on month in February 2010.
The consumer confidence index reached -47.5 points in February in comparison with -49.1 in January.
