The Competition Council in Romania has announced that it intends to launch an analysis of the road construction industry in the country, aimed at discovering, in detail, how infrastructure projects are developed and determining the main factors which affect competition in this field.
This would be the first occasion on which the antitrust watchdog has looked specifically into this arena. According to the regulator’s representatives, the investigation will analyse the building materials used for such projects, the methodology of construction and the criteria used in granting contracts for such projects.
