The town planning pertaining to the Metropolis mega-project in the suburbs of Bratislava has been completed. The project, which will be developed by TriGranit, will be worth €1.5bn.
The project will be built in three stages. The first will involve hotels, a casino, an aquapark and a shopping centre. The second will consist of the expansion of the casino and the aquapark. The third will include a conference centre, a golf course, leisure and fitness facilities, more hotels and residential space.
With more than 76,000 m², the conference centre is expected to become the largest such facility in Slovakia. The casino will take up 27,000 m², which is double the area of all casinos in Slovakia combined.
The project still requires final approval from the council. It is likely that construction will begin in 2011.
