Room for residential properties in Bucharest
2010-02-04
Bucharest needs 140,000-170,000 new residences to match Central European cities such as Warsaw and Budapest in terms of the density of dwellings per number of inhabitants, according to the property consultancy Colliers International.
At present, Bucharest boasts 404 flats per 1,000 inhabitants. In Warsaw the proportion is 486 per 1,000. Some 5,000 dwellings were expected to be completed this year in Bucharest, but 30% are likely to be cancelled.
