€272m from the state budget was spent on
residential projects in Slovakia in 2009, according to the Slovakian Ministry of Construction and Regional Development.
The money was channelled into mortgage support and subsidies for the modernisation of flats. Approximately €71m was also pumped into a project aimed at diminishing the amount of energy consumed by family houses and flats. Another €56.9m was spent on the development of residential construction. About €37.2m was invested in the modernisation of about 2,600 council flats.
