0.8% drop in construction output in Hungary in December

There was a 0.8% year-on-year decrease in construction output in Hungary in December 2011, to HUF 197.5bn (€672m), according to the preliminary data of the Hungarian Statistical Office (KSH).
In terms of the main construction groups, a year-on-year growth of 12.5% was reported in civil engineering in December and decline of 11% was reported in building construction.
The volume of new orders in December increased by 10.5% in relation to the analogous month of the previous year and was worth HUF 125.6bn (€427.4m). Orders for new buildings increased in terms of volume by 10.4%, and orders for civil engineering work increased by 10.6% year on year.
